Advanced Pet Diagnostics
Getting the results that matter to your companion

Testing gives veterinarians additional information about pets.
Having advanced diagnostic tools in a veterinary clinic aids in quicker and more accurate diagnoses. At easyvet Katy, we are equipped with state-of-the-art in-house labs and digital X-rays so that your pet gets accurate and convenient medical care. Our goal is to identify health issues as soon as possible so we can improve treatment outcomes for your pet.
Testing Performed For Your Pet In-House
Our veterinary team can, in many cases, obtain same-day results by using our in-house laboratory. We can perform a selection of diagnostic tests, including:
- Bloodwork (CBC, chemistry panels, etc.) to evaluate organ function and hydration status and detect infections or anemia.
- Thyroid testing to diagnose hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism.
- Pancreatic lipase test to assess pancreatic function and detect pancreatitis.
- Urinalysis to screen for kidney disease, diabetes, infections, and bladder stones.
- Fecal exams to identify parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, and Giardia.
- Heartworm tests to detect this serious, mosquito-borne disease.
- Parvovirus test and feline combo test (Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) to check for these diseases.
- Phenobarbital testing to monitor medication levels for pets with epilepsy and seizure disorders.
- Cytology to evaluate skin masses, ear infections, and abnormal cell samples under a microscope.
By performing these tests in-house, we can quickly diagnose and address health concerns during wellness exams or sick visits, minimizing wait times and stress for both you and your pet.

Digital X-rays are used to evaluate your pet’s inner structures.
Veterinary radiology can be used to search for signs of many health conditions, from orthopedic issues to internal organ health. At easyvet Katy, we utilize digital X-ray technology, which provides detailed, high-resolution images of your pet’s bones, joints, and soft tissues. Your pet may receive X-rays in order to diagnose bone fractures and joint conditions (such as arthritis and hip dysplasia), foreign objects that may have been swallowed, lung conditions, or abdominal abnormalities.
If a case requires additional expertise, we can send complex X-ray images to a board-certified radiologist for further evaluation.
Receiving Test Results: Keeping You Informed
At easyvet Katy, we prioritize clear communication and timely updates. Many of our in-house tests provide results the same day, allowing for immediate discussions and treatment planning during your visit. For tests that require additional processing time or need to be sent to an external reference laboratory, our team will follow up with you as soon as the results are available. If your pet’s test cannot be completed during the appointment, a member of our veterinary team will call you to discuss the findings once the results are available.
